Originally posted by aeryncrichton 10/20/04So, was anyone surprised that despite her misgivings, Aeryn fell completely in love with her child when John placed him in her arms?
I loved her talking to him and explaining about the DRD's, the scary sounds of Moya under pressure, and the weapons, LOL! I suspect Little D is going to get quite an education from Mom!

I loved her just carrying on, baby in one arm, gun in the other, because she had to, and then standing and soothing him whenever it was quiet. (Loved "NOW you cry?" LOL! The sound of her voice and the look on her face was priceless!)
This child is never going to doubt his mother's love....or, obviously, his father's....
(John, cuddling/nuzzling the baby when he wakes from his coma and finds the little guy there.... AIYEE! Was that perfect, or what?)
Anyway, I think Aeryn's going to do fine as a mom. She wasn't raised in a family setting, but she's learned an awful lot about it from John and from the "family" on Moya, and despite her fears, she falls into caring for her newborn easily.....
Of course, I think John might be right about the "arts and crafts...."

shipsister on 10/20/04Oh, yeah, disassembling smaller weapons to make larger weapons -- arts and crafts, PK style!

We always knew Aeryn would be a good mom, even if she wasn't sure, and to watch her embrace this new aspect of her life was quite wonderful.
I just loved the image of her holding the baby in one arm as she shoots the bad guys with her free hand -- too cool!
Not that violence around kids is cool; it's the vision of Aeryn as kick-eema Mom that I liked so much.
And yeah, John and the baby -- absolute perfection!
Alex22 on 5/29/05I think you could already tell from S1 that Aeryn could make a great mum, if she ever had kids.
Even the bad-ass PK had a caring, 'I'm going to look out for you' side to her. She felt responsible for Moya, Pilot and Talyn. And despite her gruff behaviour towards John, she did teach him how to fly - and propbably also how to shoot and hand-to-hand combat.
It's simply a beautiful image to actually see her as a doting mother in the end.
