My Aeryn

These were originally written in April, 2004, well before PKW.  We have no idea what led us to do these little "character verses," but they're pretty cool!


Here's my take on Aeryn....hard to do because I don't tend to analyze....  This is as of the end of season 4...


My Aeryn....


above all else, has grown
knows it
and values it

does not reject the soldier she was, only the cause she followed
sometimes misses the simplicity of PK life
but would never go back
and would die to keep the Peacekeepers from taking anyone she loves

loves John Crichton
is strong enough to lose him again and survive
but will always have his back

has ghosts she hasn't made peace with

wants the child she is carrying, more than life itself
is terrified of being a mother
is terrified of being HER mother
loves her mother despite it all
wonders about her father

is far more nurturing than she knows

will kill without thought or regret if she needs to
would prefer not to
and will offer a way out if the bad guys will take it

feels a quiet kinship with Pilot and Moya

loves to fly
but doesn't need the solitude as she once did

hates wormholes
is proud she can navigate through them
not all wormholes are bad

is pragmatic and practical
will never see the need for frills, in clothing, living quarters, or plans

is beginning to enjoy improvisation, at least when John is involved

understands John better than John does himself right now
even the parts of him she can't share
sees herself as his partner in all things
still thinks he's an idiot sometimes

My Aeryn is:

Vulnerable... but learning that vulnerablitity isn't a weakness, lack of vulnerability is.

Learning that a warior doesn't have to be ignorant.

Damaged, but learning that painful pasts can help you avoid mistakes in the future.

Learning that love can heal as well as hurt.

Stubborn.
Fierce.
Still frightened of the unknown but learning not to let it control her decisions.

A lover.
A mother.
A wife.
A child.

A woman who knows how to stand by her man, when to put her foot up his butt and when to let him go, even if it means losing him.

Someone who is learning how to take second chances.

Vengence.
Forgiveness.
Discovery.
Compassion.

Someone who loves hard with a soft touch and would give her life for the greater good but would not let anyone else give thier life for her.

Completely, totally and utterly unique.
