This idea's been rattling around in my head but seemed like too much "talking heads" for an actual fic, so I thought I'd give it a shot in conjunction with the November 27th weekly microfic challenge at Terra Firma.

Rating: G
Setting: shortly after WSS: Fetal Attraction
Spoilers: Through FA
Disclaimer: Not my characters, not my universe, just playing!

This may not be exactly the kind of reunion LT Garrix had in mind with the challenge, but...here you go:

Not Quite Perfect After All

Aeryn gazed impassively at the non-functioning bioloid. It seemed like cycles since she'd last seen it on the dead leviathan. "They said it was perfect," she said to Chiana, asking without actually asking.

"I was in a transport pod with it for most of a solar day, and never had a clue it wasn't you," Chiana said. "It was even as good a pilot as you."

Aeryn snorted in disbelief and leaned slightly on Chi for support. Looking at the ruined...face -- obviously the result of pulse fire -- she asked, "What happened to it?"

"Crichton," was the succinct answer.

Aeryn smiled.

Never saw this episode....but I did hear from others about it. I have to say, that I liked the idea of John seeing through the deception and delivering the Uncharteds view of justice. I gather from your approach, that our girl would be "very" proud of her man in being able to see the danger and blow it away....regardless the image it projects!

John has become a product of his surroundings......and thank the stars that Aeryn had a hand in that! Well done!;)
